Users without permissions to use the diagnostic viewer and those who have not installed the diagnostic viewer have the Open Web Viewer button available on the worklist. Clicking it from the worklist is equivalent to clicking it on the Quick View page.

eRAD PACS has three solutions for viewing the images in a study.

Static JPEG Images in the Browser

For users without access privileges to the diagnostic viewer, or if the viewer does not exist on your workstation, you can view static JPEG images in your browser.  Find the study on the worklist, and click the Quick View button, . The images load into the browser window.  This display mode does not support image manipulation tools such as window/level, zoom or stack views. To increase or decrease the image size, select one of the three Image Size buttons. For a full-resolution rendering of an image, or, if the monitor does not support the full resolution, then a maximum screen resolution rendering, click on the image.

Return to the worklist by clicking the Back to List button.

Full Fidelity Images in the Web Viewer

For access to full fidelity images in your browser, use the web viewer. The web viewer provides tools to window/level, scroll, pan and zoom, flip and rotate, and measure.

Full Fidelity Images in the Diagnostic Viewer

For access to full fidelity images and the necessary tools to manipulate them, there is the eRAD PACS viewer. The viewer is an application that installs itself on your PC, yet functions like a browser plug-in when you open up a study. After installing the viewer, find the study on the worklist and click on the Open button, , or the Patient Name value. When you use the open button, the viewer opens that single study, without checking for prior exams.  To search for priors, click on the patient name link, or use one of the other options for finding prior studies.

Return to the worklist by exiting the Viewer or selecting your Browser on the Windows task bar.
