List prior studies

On the worklist, expansion buttons expand worklist entries to show relevant and all prior studies with the original study. The expansion buttons appear at the top of the worklist.  The list of priors on an expanded worklist does not include studies from third party archives.  To obtain a list of these studies, refer to the section below.

Not Expanded, : No expansion applied when displaying the worklist.

Expand by Relevant Priors,: Displays all relevant prior exams with the original study as defined by the prior exam selection criteria.

Expand by All Priors, : Displays all prior exams with the original study, as defined by the study matching criteria settings.

After selecting one of these options, the associated studies appear immediately below the original study. They are grouped by colors applied to the worklist row.

On an expanded worklist, a Group Open button, , exists in an expanded study row for opening any of the associated studies.  When you click on this button, all the studies in the expanded group for that study are loaded into the viewer.  If you want to open a subset of these studies, check the box to the left for each study and click on the Group Open or Batch Open button.

Relevant Priors Worklist

Whether the worklist is expanded or not, the server automatically checks for prior studies when you click on the Patient Name for a study. Depending on the Prior Study setting, this check may include all configured archives. If any prior studies exist, a worklist appears listing the selected study, in blue, plus the other studies. Prior studies already resident on the server are available for loading into the viewer.  Non-resident studies must be retrieved before becoming available for viewing.

Listing Priors on Third Party Archives

If the server is connected to a third party archive, you can get a list of prior studies by clicking on the More Information button, , in the study row. This button appears if third party archives are configured in the Devices table, and if the prior study setting disables local-only checking.

Querying a third party archive is available from the External Archive tab.  If prior studies exist, you can manually retrieve the using the Retrieve button, .  Refer to the external archive section for details.
