Click the Admin tab.
Click the Devices tab.
In the devices table, enter the device ID, IP address, port, protocol, type and category.
Click the Add button.
The devices table lists all the external devices eRAD PACS communicates with. The table consists of the following fields:
ID:
device identification label
IP/Host: IP address or host name of the device
Port: contains the port address of the DICOM application. Necessary
only when the device accepts association requests.
Protocol: TCP connections
are for default DICOM and HL7 communications. TLS
connections support DICOM Security Enhancements.
Type: identifies the function of the device by associating it
with a device type.
Category: The device category defines the maximum number of connections all members of the Category can have established at any given point in time.
The device Type is one of the following:
Backup Source - a device that sends data to the Backup Target device.
Backup Target - a DICOM-compliant device intended as an offline data backup server.
Child - an
eRAD PACS child server.
DICOM - DICOM services supported are defined on the DICOM
device settings page. This type should be used for almost all devices
that send or receive data from eRAD PACS.
HL7 - Specific HL7 services supported
are defined in the HL7
Device Setting page.
Parent - an eRAD PACS
parent server.
Viewer - an eRAD
PACS workstation, used for workstation pre-fetch and auto-routing.
Workstation-specific parameters are defined on the Viewer
settings page. Note: Workstation is a retired device type. Existing
devices with this designation remain valid, although assigning it to new
devices is not supported.
To add a device, enter values into the first row in the devices table, and click the Add Button. The device-specific setup page appears, if applicable. Enter the device specific configuration information. When all the information is entered, the new device will be added to the device table.
After making changes to the devices table, you must rebuild the eRAD PACS hierarchy data. At the bottom of the devices table, click Recollect Dotcom Info. To verify the information is correct, click Validate Dotcom Info. If errors are reported, they must be cleared before the server will work properly.
