To edit patient and study demographics, do the following:
Click the Worklist tab
Click the Edit button, , to the
left of the study row.
Select the field containing the information you want to change, delete the existing value, and type in the new value or select it from the pull down menu
Check the Shred box, if available, to force the system to edit all the objects in the system, as opposed to make a reference change. Be aware that shredding the previous data may place a load on the system. Unless you have a specific reason to use the Shred option, leave it unchecked.
Click the Save button at the bottom of the page. To scan documents and attach them to this order, click Save & Scan. To upload documents and attach them to this order, click Save & Upload.
If the edit mode permits users to override the default, a checkbox labeled Shred appears in the bottom corner of the edit page. When checked, changes are made to the DICOM objects, and the entire object is resent throughout the system. When not checked, soft edits are used, and only the changes are distributed.
When editing a shortcut study, the Apply to Shortcut checkbox is forced to checked for one of two conditions. The first condition is the shortcut was previously edited while the Edit Shortcut setting was Apply to Shortcut. The second condition was the shortcut was created using a Copy action in which coercion rules were applied.
Use the batch editing tool to modify the multiple studies at the same time, as follows:
On the Worklist, check the box on the left of each study’s row.
Click the Batch Edit button, ,
at the top of the worklist.
Enter the values into the available field.
Click Save.
When batch editing, fields values with a white background are unmodified and remain unchanged after submitting the edit request. Fields with a grey background contain modifications and will change for all selected studies. A field with a grey background and no value means the value will be cleared for each study.
If the edit button does not appear on your worklist, you are not authorized to edit study data. Contact your system administrator for assistance.
Studies retrieved from a third party archive or imported from DICOM media are write protected and cannot be edited. If you attempt to edit a dearchived study, you will receive a notice.
If another user is editing the study when you click on the Edit button, you receive a notice indicating the study is locked. The notice includes the user's name and depending on your user privileges, a button for breaking the lock. When you break the lock, the other user is prevented from saving his or her changes. You should contact the person first to make sure this doesn't present a problem.
Study editing can be automated using the Edit action. The action applies a series of defined coercion rules to each study matching a worklist filter.
