Click the Admin tab.
Click the Devices tab.
Click the echo button for the device you want to test.
To confirm eRAD PACS and another device can communicate, you can issue a ping command or a DICOM echo request from the server to perform a check. From the devices page, find the device you want to test in the Devices table. Click the test button, , in the row for the device.
If the device Type is DICOM, Parent or Child, a DICOM Echo request is executed and the results page appears. If the device successfully received and acknowledged the Echo request, you will see a line:
Echo [1], Complete [Status: Success]
If the device Type is HL7 or Viewer, a ping command is executed and the ping results page appears. If the device successfully received and acknowledged a ping request, you will see a line:
N packets transmitted, N packets
received, 0% packet loss
If one of these line does not appear anywhere on the result page, or if the Status does not show Success, the device is either not on the network, or it is not running the required services. Click on Back to return to the Devices page.
